Gastroenterology Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to join our team and provide expert inpatient locum tenens coverage. This position offers the opportunity to work with a supportive team in managing complex gastrointestinal cases.

About the Opportunity

This solo position requires the physician to admit, consult, and manage complex GI cases requiring specialized care. The role is inpatient only, with no clinic responsibilities. You will work alongside skilled hospitalists and intensivists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnosis, treatment, and consultative care for acute and chronic GI conditions.
• Manage GI-related emergencies and perform inpatient procedures.
• Coordinate care with hospitalists and intensivists.
• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and orders.
• Procedures may include colonoscopy, ERCP, EGD, esophageal dilation, PEG placement, and more.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Gastroenterology is required.
• Possession of or eligibility to quickly obtain an active New Jersey medical license.
• ACLS Certification.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred.
• Comfortable working independently in an inpatient setting.
