Job Overview Edwards Cast Stone is looking for an entry level cost estimator to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate estimates and take-offs on projects. This includes the review of projects to bid, analyzing information and working with our team to provide exceptional customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Work independently or with estimating team to create responsive proposals to both simple and complex requests for cast stone bids.
- Directly prepare detailed quality take-offs, develop assumed specifications, and assign relevant cost factors to cost estimates.
- Identify and analyze various cast stone projects open for bidding.
- Receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes for applicable scopes and alignment with bid documents.
- Review project plans and specifications for estimating and bidding procedures.
- Answer customer questions and confer with construction managers, architects, engineers, and masons to win business.
- Download, store and organize plans and project specifications electronically.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, products, and pricing trends.
- Continually develop and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, general contractors, masons and customers.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Ability to read, listen to, understand, and follow directions with an attention to detail.
- Analyze plans and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
- Strong mathematics and technical skills to understand system analysis.
- Dedicated and reliable work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Education and Experience Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Work location and Schedule - In office, full-time. No travel.
- Day shift, Monday - Friday.
