Job Summary:

Reporting to the Respiratory Coordinator/Manager, the NICU Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) provides services to patients as directed by physicians. Essential tasks include but are not limited to: invasive and noninvasive ventilator management, medical gas administration, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, patient assessment, arterial/venous blood gas sampling and analysis, airway management and neonatal resuscitation, C-section and delivery assistance, and endotracheal intubation/assisting. Performs internal/external patient transports. The RCP maintains department appearance, documents in the EMR under respiratory and in the multidisciplinary plan of care as appropriate. The RCP assists with data collection for process improvement monitoring and reporting.
