Client Details

The Senior Construction Analyst/Project Accountant will oversee project financial tracking, invoice processing, and compliance for high-end construction projects. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with financial tools like Excel. The ideal candidate will enjoy process-driven work, excel in meeting deadlines, and collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients to uphold the firm's high standards.

Description

  • Invoice Management:

    • Monitor and manage a dedicated inbox for invoice submissions.
    • Analyze and confirm accuracy of invoices, ensuring proper project name, billing details, and cost accuracy.
    • Detect and address discrepancies, such as duplicate billing or incorrect rates.
    • Record, track, and file invoices in SharePoint while maintaining the ACR/Financial Tracker.
    • Send Open Invoice Reports to the internal team twice weekly and follow up with vendors to ensure timely submissions.
  • Pay Application Processing:

    • Verify accounting accuracy in G702/703 forms monthly.
    • Maintain Waiver Tracker and Internal Transfer Log.
    • Summarize internal comments and communicate with contractors to address discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting & Auditing:

    • Update and audit project Financial Trackers, ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
    • Generate cost summaries and monthly tracking documents for client reporting.
    • Use historical data to generate analytics and build pricing databases for materials and trade benchmarks.
  • Compliance Oversight:

    • Review lien waivers for accuracy and maintain Certificates of Insurance for all project participants.
    • Ensure compliance with project-specific and firm-wide financial protocols.
  • General Office Support:

    • Manage office schedules, meeting agendas, and supply inventory.
    • Oversee staff expense reports and assist with timekeeping database updates.
    • Support team onboarding for new construction analysts.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Enhance automation in financial tracking and assist with the selection of accounting software to improve efficiency.
    • Provide weekly project financial reports and contribute to ongoing development of internal systems and databases.

Profile

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 5+ years in project accounting, financial analysis, or construction administration roles.
    • Familiarity with high-end residential or commercial construction projects is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Advanced Excel skills, including programming and financial tracking.
    • Experience with SharePoint and project management systems is advantageous.
  • Attention to Detail:

    • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices and financial documentation.
