Senior Backend Software Engineer (Golang, Java, AWS)

About the Team: Our dedicated team is focused on creating advanced solutions for Capital One's credit card processing system. We're on an exciting mission to develop a state-of-the-art credit card processing platform entirely in-house, utilizing the latest serverless patterns and modern application architectures in the public cloud. This is a place for learning, innovation, and being a leader in the enterprise tech field.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a diverse range of technology projects and a skilled team of developers to deliver solutions that address regulatory requirements for the organization.
• Stay ahead of technology trends, engage in experimentation with new tools, and actively participate in technology communities. You'll also mentor fellow engineers and occasionally code or review code yourself.
• Work closely with digital product managers to develop resilient cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans financially.
• Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node.js, Go, and Scala, as well as Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and various AWS services.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree.
• 7+ years of experience with at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
• 4+ years of experience with open-source frameworks.
• 1+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Agile practices.

The salary range for this position is $187,700 - $214,200. This reflects the range Capital One is willing to offer at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered will be commensurate with experience level and skillset.
