Program Description This program is the primary engineering branch in charge of the design and deployment of the IT systems that help the Agency achieve its mission. Our client has been heavily involved with this Government Customer for over 10 years but some of our employees have supported the agency for over 14 years making us one of the most trusted and valuable partners on the ground. The mission of this program is to design and deploy key IT systems to help the agency share information in a timely manner. The program itself is responsible for all facets of technology including Microsoft, VMWare, DataCenter Architecture, Citrix/Virtual Desktop, Application Provisioning, and Identity and Access Management. This includes all areas of engineering including Desktop, Server, Applications, Virtualization, SharePoint, SQL, Exchange, Active Directory, ADFS, ESX, Storage, LDAP, Linux/Red-Hat, Oracle Identity Suites, Oracle Access Manager, Radiant Logic and most importantly, the adoption of the Cloud - specifically AWS/C2S, Azure in both Commercial and Government spaces and the adoption of Azure within Secret and Top Secret networks. The customer is currently going through a top-down modernization effort across their IT infrastructure. This modernization effort extends into the paradigm used in service offerings related to Infrastructure as a service, Software as a Service, and Platform as a Service.
Team Description The program's core team consists of 3 rd and 4 th Tier Engineering and Support services related to any technology that surrounds Microsoft including but not limited to SharePoint Online, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange and Exchange Online, Azure AD Connect, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), SAML Authentication within Azure IL2 - IL5 (DoD 365), IL6 (Secret) and IL7 (Top Secret) and just about anything that touches Microsoft 365. The team is an exciting team to work with, all are very technically focused and work closely together to help achieve (sometimes the impossible) any request that our Government Customer may have.
Job Description As a Microsoft Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing physical and virtual
Microsoft SQL & SharePoint Online Servers , and implementing security and vendor best practices in a distributed IT environment.
- Engineering, documenting, delivering and maintaining the Microsoft SQL 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 in accordance with customer specifications and security guidelines
- Diagnosing and resolving the toughest performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to the platforms listed above
- Writing implementation and design documents describing how security features are implemented
- Participating in processes throughout all phases of ITIL Service Lifecycle, including submitting Change Requests and resolution of Incident tickets
- Performing requirements analysis, design, and integration for all platforms listed above
- Providing direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers and SQL database administrators to a lesser extent
- Investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel
- Integration and design of SQL instances in virtualized and physical environments
- Knowledge and experience implementation fault tolerant database solutions
- Knowledge and experience designing database solutions for disaster recovery
- Knowledge and experience implementing DISA STiGs for databases
- Support for applications that rely on SQL database, including performance tuning and trouble-shooting
- Other tasks to include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design
What we are looking for (Qualifications): - Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
- Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of related experience with (either one)
- 3-5 years of SQL Administration and SQL Design experience
- 3-5 years of SharePoint Online Administration and Design experience
- CompTIA Security+CE or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
- MCSA, MCSE or other equivalent SQL Server certification required
- Experience with MySQL desired
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems, including DNS, Group Policy, and PKI
