About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Claims to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and direction of the Claims Department, including the development and implementation of technical claims operations, claim handling procedures, and performance strategies. This role involves monitoring and improving claims performance in various areas, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team of claims professionals. The VP of Claims will also be involved in strategic planning, budget monitoring, and will be the key point of contact for all claims-related matters in the absence of the Chief Claims Officer. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, a current State of California Independent Adjuster License, and a minimum of 8 years' experience in property/casualty field technical claims operations, with at least 5 years' in a management role. The role requires a deep understanding of claims systems, reserving philosophies, and the organizational aspects of automobile claims handling. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in decision-making, be detail-oriented, and possess strong leadership and organizational management skills. The VP of Claims should be adept at working under pressure, managing multiple tasks, and have the ability to make sound judgments both independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain a professional and client-focused approach.
