About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to lead the strategic direction, management, and expansion of individual giving. This role is pivotal in overseeing annual campaigns, donor communications, major gifts, and planned giving programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and meeting annual revenue budgets, coaching a small team, and ensuring the integration of frontline fundraising techniques with the organization's priorities. Essential responsibilities include donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, as well as development operations and administration. The VP of Development will also be involved in cross-department collaboration and is expected to have a strong background in fundraising, with a focus on human services or racial justice. Candidates for the Vice President of Development position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in individual giving, major gifts, and fundraising, with a preference for those with a background in human services or racial justice. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's degree is preferred. The role demands a candidate with a proven track record in building and growing annual appeals, major/planned gifts, and capital campaigns. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, and be adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with development databases is essential, and a strong understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion in fundraising practices is a must. The VP of Development will be expected to work closely with the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and Ambassadors Council, and to be a strategic thinker with a growth mindset.
