Position Summary |
LOCATED IN LINCOLN, NE This position is responsible for the administration of operational and financial activities for the College of Nursing – Lincoln Division. Provides management of financial, physical and human resources and works collaboratively with the Lincoln Division Assistant Dean to advance the missions of the College of Nursing as it relates to the Lincoln Division. |

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | 1. General business acumen and vision to include: common sense, good judgment, negotiation skills, basic accounting, financial statement knowledge including accurate interpretation and analysis, and ability to anticipate and forecast programmatic needs of the division. 2. Effective written and verbal communication skills. 3. Advanced proficiency in analytic reasoning and strategic planning to formulate budgets and administrative policies and processes. 4. Understanding of regulatory framework and internal controls (financial and compliance) and ability to apply them. 5. Ability to assess risk and problem solve by critically evaluating alternative courses of action and arriving at solutions that are best for both the division, college and UNMC as a whole. 6. Ability to counsel superiors regarding required alternative courses of action. 7. Understanding of human resource administration and related regulatory environment. 8. Exhibits a style of participatory leadership and fosters a climate of respect and collegiality to include competency regarding: conflict management, supervision, mentoring, and team building. 9. A high level of political acumen and communication is essential to interact with a diversity of individuals and work teams at all levels of the organization. 10. Ability to exercise independent judgment and innovation. 11. Ability to identify and overcome barriers to successful completion of a project is essential. 12. General understanding of academic program accreditation standards, academic services processes, and ability to interface effectively with information and reporting systems. 13. Ability to interface effectively with student populations. 14. General knowledge and awareness of educator and student rights and responsibilities. 15. Working knowledge of related technological resources/software to include enterprise systems and the MS Office suite. |
