Position Summary
POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY

Responsible for the effective, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the utility plant and utility distribution systems on the UNMC campus (including all UNMC controlled services to The Nebraska Medical Center). Assist and coordinate utility activities at offsite locations controlled by UNMC or other parties.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Engineering, Utility, or District Energy field

(Will consider 10 years related education and experience combined of which three years must include related experience in a lead role)

Experience in utility operations or district energy environment to include a minimum of three years experience in a lead role.

Required License Yes

Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Management (CEM), and/or City of Omaha 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade stationary engineer’s license

Required Other Computer Applications: Work Order Software, Work Force Management Software, Purchasing Software, Utility Control Software
Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge in the primary utility system operations – chilled water, steam and medium voltage electrical.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong Leadership and organizational skills including communication, scheduling, prioritization, and construction management.
Ability to effectively schedule and manage complex operations and multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to provide direction and manage quality performance.
Preferred Education: Master's degree or equivalent
