Summary:
The Operations & Maintenance Technician 3rd Class is capable of performing diagnostic testing and analysis, along with repairing and/or replacing most of the HVAC. Operate and repair building mechanical and electrical systems.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
1. Supports the day-to-day work on a daily basis by performing various testing and diagnosis for the Operation and Maintenance department.

1. Safety: Promotes and adheres with the District's Safety Manual. Performs all work in the safest manner and stops work if safety related issues exist to people, equipment and plant/department. Report all safety concerns to appropriate leadership.

3. Communication: Promptly review and apply Corporate, Business Unit, departmental and team specific communications. Deliver and reinforce effective communications as required by role.
4. Continuous Improvement: Identify improvement opportunities related to work practices, procedures, documentation, tools or equipment. Applies improved work methods in the execution of work.
5. Fiscal Accountability: Adheres to all budget and expense policies and procedures. Effectively cares for all corporate: property, tools and equipment in order to minimize cost.
6. Cross Functional Working Relationships (CFWR): Work collaboratively with peers and other work groups, exhibit professional behavior, and promote positive working relationships.

This position is considered an "essential position" meaning when business necessity and continuity needs are emergent, this position will be required to report to work and may be required to work hours beyond an employee's normal shift.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with Departmental policy.
Must be available for overtime work and callouts as required to ensure continuance of efficient operation.
Environment:
Office/Field/Generation Plant: Work will be performed in a modern office environment amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, and noises. Work will also be performed outside in a wide variety of weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, cold, wind, etc.), terrain, and other natural environmental hazards as well as pollen and other airborne allergens. Will work around energies high voltage electrical equipment. Work will be performed inside with exposure to industrial building conditions and will be exposed to extreme temperatures, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation and exposure to sounds. Noise levels may require shouting in order to be heard.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform strenuous work in varying weather including lifting, bending and awkward body positioning, lifting 50lbs. from floor to overhead height, climbing up and down vertical ladders, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. from floor to waist height. Requires work in high traffic environments. Must be physically capable of climbing, working in enclosed spaces, near asbestos and lead. Must be able to perform all work when fully outfitted with FR clothing. Cardio-pulmonary and physical fitness may be required for utilization of respiratory protection equipment if working in a power plant.
