The Sr Pharmacy Applications Analyst will provide analysis to translate pharmacy workflow and content requirements into software application solutions through collaboration with owners, teams and various stakeholders. May fulfill multiple roles throughout the design, development, implementation, coordination, and on-going support of comprehensive pharmacy information systems. Participate in building system components, testing, documentation of workflows and other project information. Provide implementation support and maintenance of pharmacy system software. Build data sets, master files and reports. Perform quality assurance and integrated testing of current and newly released vendor functionality to end-users. Provide 24/7 support for applications within accountability.
Required Qualifications: Sr. Pharmacy Applications Analyst - Beacon
* Minimum of four years pharmacy experience required in designated area of application(s) supported.
* Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy required.
* Ability to obtain appropriate EPIC certification(s) within six months of hire required.
* Proficient knowledge and ability to employ systems analysis and quality assurance concepts, techniques, industry best practices, tools and standard required.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills required.
* Strong project management and presentation skills required.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office required.
* Strong attention to detail required.
* Ability to translate an understanding of computer system capabilities to address user process requirements required.
* Analytical skills necessary to apply clinical and business expertise to problems and/or increase operational efficiency with systems required.
* Ability to analyze the functionality of systems and their fit within specifications required.
* Clinical expertise in subject matter areas demonstrated by documented experience in analysis, process design and workflow, research, installation/implementation and support of software applications and system required.
* Proven ability to multi-task required.
* Successful completion of the Nebraska Pharmacy examination and subsequent licensure within the State of Nebraska required.
Preferred Qualifications: Sr. Pharmacy Applications Analyst - Beacon
* Healthcare operations background is preferred (e.g., clinical, billing, scheduling, access services, health information management, etc.).
* Experience with pharmacy or clinical workflow analysis for development of electronic solutions within assigned applications preferred.
* Technical and administrative experience with EPIC and other applications (e.g., smart sets, order sets, documentation flow sheets, scheduling, billing, etc.) preferred.
* Doctor of Pharmacy degree or master's degree in pharmacy preferred.
* EPIC certification in designated application area(s) is strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of operational healthcare hospital/clinic workflows preferred.
* Strong understanding of the organization's policies, procedures, and business operations preferred.
* Board certification in ambulatory care pharmacy, critical care pharmacy, nutrition support pharmacy, oncology pharmacy, pediatric pharmacy or pharmacotherapy preferred.
* Professional level certification from an accredited organization in relevant informatics, health information technology, clinical or business specialties preferred.
