POSITION SUMMARY:

The Strategic Account Manager develops and implements account management and marketing plans for strategic accounts to ensure customer satisfaction. This role will identify opportunities to grow market share and sales with new product lines in existing accounts, and develop and implement strategies to capture additional business. They will generate innovative solutions to customer problems, and develop new business relationships and nurture established long-term customer relationships in support of company initiatives and earnings objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate leadership by championing Lozierâ??s Mission, Vision, and Values and living the Lozier Leadership Model.
  • Manage very large, complex national customer account(s) utilizing in-depth understanding of high volume intricate needs.
  • Anticipate and prevent potential problems for customers; resolve customer problems, both independently or cross-functionally, preventing ongoing issues through process improvement, and advocating for improvements in the overall customer experience.
  • Create and present presentations outlining product value, matching organizational capabilities to customer and target requirements, and identifying market and customer trends.
  • Generate quotes utilizing configure, price, quote (CPQ) methodologies for available product lines.
  • Provide itemized rolling forecast to support internal sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) processes that reflect customer need. Keeps customer informed and involved in the forecasting process.
  • Accountable for reducing obsolete inventory.
  • Provide clear feedback on account activity and detailed forecast information.
  • Develop strategic sales plan, targeting product lines for sales increases and creating novel combinations of existing products and services to meet new opportunities.
  • Develop rollout potential for sales growth.
  • Ensure profitable sales by controlling errors, sales costs and past due receivables.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • May train or assist less experienced Account Managers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years account management experience or 10 years in a related field or company, if degreed. Minimum of 10 years account management experience or 12 years in a related field or company, if non-degreed.

  • Able to build and maintain long-term customer relationships through demonstrated organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills, builds confidence in the products, services and ideas.
  • Self-starter, with highly developed sense of urgency.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Motivational methods to gain acceptance of products services and ideas.
  • Demonstrated critical path thinking skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and sales skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read blueprints.

Preferred Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of complete catalog and products that accounts use.
  • Specific knowledge of organizational capabilities and processes.
  • Understands all aspects of business SIOP and forecasting process.
  • Intermediate skills in company defined software.
  • Ability to anticipate customer business information needs.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Must maintain a valid driverâ??s license.
  • Potential for extensive travel, up to 3 or 4 days per week.
