Description

Teach continuing education theatre courses that foster creativity, self-expression, and artistic growth while actively engaging the broader community. Design and deliver dynamic, performance-based instruction that builds confidence, collaboration, and appreciation for the arts. Support students through hands-on learning opportunities, including community-based projects and apprenticeship-style experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world practice.

Job Duties

  • Teach continuing education theatre courses as assigned by the CE Coordinator. 
  • Evaluate and document student participation and progress in accordance with college and CE division policies.
  • Promote, develop, and deliver quality programming with the intent to engage and retain students.
  • Demonstrate IWCCâ??s core mission, vision, and values.
  • Maintain accurate course rosters and submit required reports by established deadlines.
  • Complete required professional development and trainings.
  • Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor with all members of the college and community, contributing to a productive and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Promote, model, and enforce academic integrity.
  • Be available to answer student questions outside of class time (via phone, web conferencing, or email).
  • Help students achieve their educational and personal development goals.
  • Refer students to college resources as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable college policies and regulations.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelorâ??s degree in Theatre, Performing Arts, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in theatre, performance, or a closely related discipline may substitute for formal education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, and community members.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated to helping others learn and grow.
  • Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team.
  • Professional in communication, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Physical Demands

  • The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
