Job Title: QA Manager
Compensation: $90,000-$130,000
Location: Hybrid-Omaha, NE or Remote
The Job:
We are seeking an experienced QA Manager who thrives on empowering individuals to grow and succeed. In this role, you will lead a team of QA Engineers across several Agile teams, enabling them to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently. You will use your technical expertise and quality knowledge to guide the team in improving their test automation skills and promote Agile-aligned quality practices that deliver real value to our customers.
What You Will Do:
- Mentor and Coach: Leverage your technical skills and quality knowledge to guide and upskill QA Engineers through pair testing, hand-on test automation training, and tailored learning opportunities. Help QA Engineers at all levels grow through stretch assignments, structured training, and personalized support.
- Advocate for Quality: Champion quality across the organization by influencing and challenging teams to incorporate best practices to improve quality and velocity. Help implement Agile-aligned quality initiatives that focus on early defect prevention.
- Customer-Centric Engineering: Foster a culture of delivering customer value, ensuring the team prioritizes impactful solutions over simply building features.
- Agile Leadership: Promote Agile principles and practices, enabling teams to respond effectively to change and deliver iteratively.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Agile Coaches, Dev Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication across roles and teams.
- Cultural Leadership: Act as a cultural leader within the organization, promoting inclusivity, collaboration, and shared ownership of success.
Who You Are and What You Need:
- Proven Mentor and Leader: You have successfully developed and supported QA Engineers at all levels, helping them achieve their goals. You take pride in your team’s achievements and enjoy helping others succeed.
- 7+ years of QA experience.
- At least 1 year of proven experience leading teams, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Technically Proficient: You have in-depth experience testing web applications and in-depth knowledge of test automation. You have implemented the testing pyramid and have experience working with Developers and QA Engineers to shift testing left.
- A Clear Communicator: You are known for communicating with empathy and clarity, you adapt your communication style to engage diverse stakeholders—from junior team members to senior leaders. You are adept at listening to and understanding team members’ needs and concerns.
- A Thoughtful Influencer: You have strong, well-informed opinions and advocate for positive change, balancing open-mindedness with respect for established practices to build buy-in and drive improvement.
- A Mentor at Heart: Passionate about helping others grow, you have experience guiding QA Engineers and derive satisfaction from seeing your team members succeed.
