Job Summary:

In a career as an LPN - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will provide basic nursing care and perform identified clinical support tasks within the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) scope of practice in conjunction with the medical staff.

Schedule: Part-Time, 24 hours a week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Location: Primary location Pacific Street with floating to all other locations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Provides safe, accurate and clinically competent direct care based on patient needs.
  • Obtains vital signs and height/weight and documents in a thorough, accurate and timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collects from the patient required information such as smoking status, allergies and medication list and documents in a thorough, accurate and timely manner in the EMR.
  • Gathers necessary information and facilitates the process for obtaining prior authorization of psychotropic medications.
  • Provides relevant patient education.
  • Responds to questions from patients, relays information to the provider and communicates direction from the provider to the patient; documents relevant information in the EMR.
  • Manages patient requests for refills of prescription medications in a timely manner.
  • Participates in applications for alternative levels of care.
  • Answers telephones and utilizes the EMR to schedule patient appointments.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.
  • Possesses a current Nebraska state license or current compact state license as a practical nurse required.
  • Previous experience using an electronic medical record required.
  • CPR Certification required.
