Coordinates the activities of food service staff and the food production processes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Leads activities of cooks and food service workers; participates in food preparation.

Leads the activities of kitchen staff to ensure sanitation and safety standards are maintained at a high level.
Trains prep staff in specific job duties, proper methods and standard practices.
Establishes work schedules, communicates production deadlines, and sets time parameters.
Ensures sanitation and maintains production standards.
Assists in planning the use of forecasted portions, to estimate quantities of ingredients needed.
Prepares food and maintains kitchen area and equipment.
Assists customers and provides friendly customer service.
Rings up items, accepts monies from the customer, and gives out proper change as requested.
Performs additional duties in absence of Supervisor of Food Service and Food Service Delivery such as ordering, inventory, delivering and overseeing staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner.
Ability to use and troubleshoot kitchen appliances and cooking utensils.
Knowledge of food safety regulations.
Knowledge of basic math skills required to ensure accuracy of recorded yields.
Ability to multi-task.
Knowledge of safe driving procedures and traffic rules.
Ability to drive a box truck or similar vehicle.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 1 year experience required.
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed required.
Minimum of 18 years of age required.
CPR (BLS) certification required.
ServSafe Food Handlers certification within 120 days of transfer or hire required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Food service and preparation experience preferred.
