Coordinates the activities of food service staff and the food production processes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Leads activities of cooks and food service workers; participates in food preparation.

  • Leads the activities of kitchen staff to ensure sanitation and safety standards are maintained at a high level.

  • Trains prep staff in specific job duties, proper methods and standard practices.

  • Establishes work schedules, communicates production deadlines, and sets time parameters.

  • Ensures sanitation and maintains production standards.

  • Assists in planning the use of forecasted portions, to estimate quantities of ingredients needed.

  • Prepares food and maintains kitchen area and equipment.

  • Assists customers and provides friendly customer service.

  • Rings up items, accepts monies from the customer, and gives out proper change as requested.

  • Performs additional duties in absence of Supervisor of Food Service and Food Service Delivery such as ordering, inventory, delivering and overseeing staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner.

  • Ability to use and troubleshoot kitchen appliances and cooking utensils.

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.

  • Knowledge of basic math skills required to ensure accuracy of recorded yields.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Knowledge of safe driving procedures and traffic rules.

  • Ability to drive a box truck or similar vehicle.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience required.

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.

  • Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.

  • Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed required.

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.

  • CPR (BLS) certification required.

  • ServSafe Food Handlers certification within 120 days of transfer or hire required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Food service and preparation experience preferred.
