JOB OVERVIEW

  • Responsible for facilitating on-site recreational and social activities for patients to address leisure skills, community reintegration, recreation resources and activities which promote adjustment and socialization.
  • Responsible for initiating and coordinating peer interaction opportunities to allow individuals opportunities to meet with others who share similar experiences and circumstances.
  • Direct interaction with patients and caregivers helping reach their goals for outcomes, emotional relatability, and community inclusion.
  • Responsible for establishing an environment that empowers patients and utilizes patientsâ?? interests and preferences to motivate and maximize participation in leisure activities.  Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely data collection.
  • Provides a social and activity based leisure environment for patients to explore leisure interests, fill rest time and facilitate peer interaction for adjustment to the rehabilitation environment and explore community reintegration.
  • Records pertinent patient information for accurate data collection.
  • Collaborates with treatment team to identify need to modify activities available  to accommodate the age, interests, and abilities of the patient

    QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school equivalency.
  • Comfortable with a vast range of age groups and individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Must have ability to learn and provide instructions and facilitation for patient participation in simple and traditional leisure activities, including basic board, table, and card games, basic art, craft and sewing activities, basic music skills, and basic outdoor sports and activities.

    This is a grant funded position. Grant funding ends on October 30, 2025.
