Position Summary:
Operates tubing end finishers, band saws, overhead crane, forklifts and side loaders. Assists with the installation of tooling on the Tube Mills.
Essential functions:
- Observes operation and verifies dimensions of finished products.
- Routinely inspects and removes finished pieces from machine bed.
- Makes all necessary quality checks and records those checks as required.
- Performs routine and nonroutine maintenance on the mill and related equipment as directed by the Team Lead.
- Operates all material handling equipment (forklifts, bridge cranes, and hand trucks)
- Performs accurate quantity counts on all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information with paint stick or stencils with spray paint.
- Unloads all material being received from semi-truck trailers using large forklifts and moves material to designated warehouse location.
- Stores all incoming material into the warehouse ensuring that all tags, paperwork and data is complete.
- Fills all production, shipping orders as required and assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers and boxing, bundling, crafting, or banding items for various methods of shipments desired.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items on outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. On the job training (OJT), if applicable, is to be performed by a qualified operator and/or Team Leader.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to operate runout tables, end finishing and bundling, storage building loads.
- Must qualify and maintain handlers equipment operator license as provided by the company.
- Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs, etc)
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by the Team Leader, and to meet our customers needs.
Candidate must be able to communicate, read and write in English.
