Our client is seeking a Clinical Consultant to join their growing team. The primary function of the Clinical Consultant is to conduct functional behavior assessments as well as plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavior support service delivery options to meet the needs of the people we support who have been diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges.

The Clinical Consultant also conducts develops and implements comprehensive behavior support plans/safety plans; consults with and provides training to direct support professionals (residential and day services) regarding evidenced based interventions that will help improve adaptive functioning of the people supported; and collaborates with team members, related service providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate. Additionally, the Clinical Consultant will provide clinical services that correspond with their licensure (LIMHP, LMHP, PLMHP, APRN) or certification (BCBA).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments.
  • Provide clinical services that correspond with licensure and/or certification type.
  • Use appropriate assessment instruments and data to develop and implement training programs that reflect behavioral and other outcomes and objectives identified in the IDI, ISP, BSP, and safety plan.
  • Establish and maintain data measurement, collection, and analysis systems for those receiving behavioral interventions. Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare/complete reports as required.
  • Conduct structured periodic service reviews to monitor the effectiveness of the behavior interventions and their implementation; modify and document plan changes as needed.
  • Create Behavior Support Plans and Safety Plans for all persons on caseload.
  • Provide professional development, training, and modeling for team members in strategies and methodologies for working with people who have been diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges.
  • Participate in ISP meetings.
  • Facilitate social skills building groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, or Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with professionals, caregivers/direct support professionals, and the person being supported; competence in analyzing assessment results, designing appropriate individual treatment plans and behavioral programs, and monitoring progress.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team member, demonstrate flexibility, and travel independently.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and be able to use all required software.
  • Ability to problem solve and assist in decision making, including during emergencies or when a supervisor is not immediately available.
  • Maintain appropriate licensure and certifications.  
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with the people supported, their families, and other natural supports.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Have a valid Nebraska driver’s license, reliable transportation, and good driving record. Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license, pass a driving record check and may, depending on Agency needs, be required to have available an automobile with required state insurance coverage for purposes of transporting persons in service. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
