In collaboration with organizational leadership or in their absence in order to meet organizational goals: Coordinate and direct/manage all activities related to placement of staffing resources needed to meet patient care requirements;Coordinate activities related to patient placement including admission and transfer; Serve as a clinical and administrative resource to nursing, ancillary and physician staff; and Assure support of patients, families and visitors in crisis. Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required. Bachelors degree in nursing required. Minimum of three years nursing experience of which a minimum of one year experience is in critical care and some experience is as a relief charge nurse required.Management experience preferred.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon completion of unit orientation.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 3 months of completion of unit orientation.Ability to make rapid and accurate assessments of patients and situations, and determine appropriate responses.Ability to prioritize and problem solve multiple concurrent tasks. Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to function as a clinical resource in a diverse setting. Demonstrate clinical competencies in complex nursing skills.Ability to function in stressful situations in a manner that promotes calmness, efficiency, and confidence.
