Process all laboratory blood, body fluid and tissue specimens received. Perform, analyze and communicate the results of patient specimens in LEAN laboratory environment. Perform required testing in transfusion services. Utilize the laboratory and hospital information systems to assist other health care providers in detecting, diagnosing and treating disease. Exhibit a leadership role within the laboratory by assisting the manager with daily operations to include but is not limited to quality control, procedure development and staff training. Bachelor’s degree and completion of a 1 to 2 year clinical program in medical technology required. Certified as a MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) required. Successful experience in clinical laboratory medicine preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of theory, technical procedures, instrumentation, and accreditation requirements preferred. In-depth quality control knowledge preferred. Ability to analyze, research and interpret laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards required. Ability to communicate effectively/respectfully in writing and orally required. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team and provide guidance/problem solve with other members required. Excellent planning and implementation skills preferred. Demonstrated traits of responsibility and self-motivation required. Ability to maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment required. Ability to multitask and prioritize inquiries/requests required. Ability to proactively provide constructive input to improve processes required.
