Three positions. HOURS: M - F 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Provide therapeutic recreation support to persons with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness. Serve as an interdisciplinary team member by conducting and writing comprehensive functional recreational assessments of individual's performance and function. Complete integrity checks, assess data for the formal recreation habilitation plans, and report this information as a liaison to the team and recreation department. Provide leadership to staff in carrying out functional activities and coach staff on active treatment. Assist in formulation curriculum for training areas providing recreation training in the gym, aquatics center, social center and community as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in a human services field and experience working with developmentally disabled individuals. Must be Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or be able to obtain CTRS within 2 years of obtaining position. Experience in performing recreation activity therapy is preferred.
