The primary duties of the Resident Project Representative includes managing client contracts with contractors, enforcing client specifications, and managing quantities and construction activities in accordance with plans and contract documents. Duties include working with general supervision a Senior Resident Project Representative or Design Project Manager. Requires a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction. Responsibilities include writing and issuing field orders, initiating change proposals for design team review and approval, estimating cost of changes, negotiating costs with contractor and recommending acceptance to Project Manager. Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and sub-consultants. Keyword(s): Resident Project Representative I Associates Degree or Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Technology is preferred. 5+ years experience conducting and documenting construction observation duties with at least 5 years experience on a multi-disciplinary project. A minimum of 5 years experience managing construction contracts for the Nevada Department of Transportation is preferred. Experience with LIMS, Site Manager and MS Office. Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents. Previous construction experience with a consulting firm is preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment.
