Position Description
This position can be located in one of our Florida HDR Offices (Pensacola, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach, or Miami).
HDR is in need of a Senior Federal Project Manager who will be responsible for identifying, developing, procuring and managing facilities and infrastructure design-build projects at the design phase for Federal Clients, primarily DoD.
In addition this person may be called upon to leverage Federal knowledge and HDRs capabilities to procure and deliver program management, planning, environmental, traditional design services and construction services for a wide variety of facilities & infrastructure projects. Their primary duties will include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of medium to large multi-discipline design-build architectural-engineering projects with a high degree of technical complexity involving a large project staff. They will be involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently, and must establish client relations with both our Federal clients and design-build construction partners to stay involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. They will also participate and in some cases facilitate work sessions for design development and contract documentation at the project sites in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines. Additional responsibilities will include: coordinating staff and workload through the entire project's development with the HDR production centers managers, working with accounting managers, project controllers, and the local office department manager for project reviews, implementation of QA/QC procedures, execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans, and acting as a mentor for less experienced project managers. B.S. degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field required. 10+ years of project management experience and hands-on design experience with projects for the federal sector required. PE or Architectural license required. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and project management software. Candidate should have demonstrated ability in Federal design-build project management and delivery, including staff management, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control/quality assurance. Experience in Federal design-build marketing is a plus including championing pursuit efforts, identifying pursuits with new and existing clients, and making technical presentations. Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication both written and verbal skills. Travel throughout the state of FL will be required.
