Position Description
The Federal Project Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, procuring and managing facilities and infrastructure design-build projects for Federal Clients, primarily DoD. In addition this person may be called upon to leverage Federal knowledge and HDRs capabilities to procure and deliver program management, planning, environmental, traditional design services and construction services for a wide variety of facilities & infrastructure projects. Independently coordinates the work of engineers and the balance of the planning team throughout the entire projects development. Establishes client relations and is involved with the marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Conducts work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staff. Is responsible to coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule. Is responsible to track the financial aspects of the projects, and coordinates and adjusts the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed to schedule. Works with the Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and the Department Manager for project reviews and with company management on an as needed basis.

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Architecture. Masters preferred. PE or AIA license required. 8+ years experience including hands-on design and project management experience on Federal facilities projects. Candidate should have demonstrated ability in Federal design-build project management and delivery, including staff management, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control/quality assurance. Experience in Federal design-build marketing is a plus including championing pursuit efforts, identifying pursuits with new and existing clients, and making technical presentations.
