Position Description

 

The Sr. Database Developer/DBA will be responsible for working with the .NET Product Development team to design, develop and implement database schemas for our new enterprise software product, perform data migrations, perform administration and optimization of SQL Server and related duties. The prime candidate will be a positive, team-oriented professional with extensive Microsoft SQL Server experience constructing and administering a database to support enterprise-wide solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the following; other related duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Partner with .NET product development team to design and develop new schemas (logical and physical database design) as part of new product development.
  • Perform data conversion/migration from customer legacy systems into FileONE’s new enterprise application
  • Install, administer and support MS SQL database environments
  • Develop SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions
  • Review specifications and provide time estimates on the development of projects and features.
  • Maintain documentation for database environments.
  • Perform database administration tasks
  • Provide leadership and mentoring of other team members
  • Perform installation, configuration and upgrading of MS SQL and Oracle Server software and related products.

Technical Skills/Qualifications

  • High proficiency in creating normalized, optimized database schemas
  • Ability to troubleshoot production processes and solve problems in real-time. Excellent knowledge and experience in administration of SQL Server database environments (backup, recovery, replication, security, monitoring)
  • Solid Knowledge of ETL tools
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as software specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be able to work independently, with little supervision.
  • Ability to perform tasks within the estimated level of effort and schedule.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with four years software related IT experience or equivalent experience required.
  • 4+ years of experience in MS SQL database development.
  • Expertise in MS SQL Server (SQL Server 2000/2005/2008)
  • Experience in XML development required
  • Expertise with query optimization and tuning
  • Expert knowledge of TSQL, Packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers
  • Strong knowledge of DTS and SSIS
  • Knowledge of ORM, RDBMS, OOPs
  • Experience working with C#.NET, LINQ, ASP.NET, and ADO.NET is a plus
