Examples of Duties: Responsible for the protection of life and property through firefighting activities performed under hazardous, emergency conditions which may involve extreme exertion and perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate or possess GED equivalency; be a U.S. citizen; be at least 21 years old and not over 39 years old. Must pass a comprehensive background investigation and be honorably discharged from the U.S. armed forces (if applicable). Must be able to pass a physical abillity test; a post-employment medical examination; a polygraph and possess a valid Class D driver's license. Must not have been convicted of any felony charge; have not pleaded guilty to any felony charge or have not entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge and meet any other standards as set forth in Tennessee Code Annotated. Generally, within three months of your application date, you will be scheduled for a written test. The written test consists of 80 questions. All answers are found in the study manual.
