Position Description

This position will assist in the delivery and set up of computers, and assist in a project to move computers from Novell to Active Directory. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the delivery and setup of computers for faculty and staff, working with the employee to move and store electronic documents as they receive new or redistributed computers.
  • Coordinating and providing basic technology and computer software and hardware support to the university community.
  • Serving as second tier contact for technology support services on campus.
  • Coordinating and maintaining communication with other computing professionals on campus for smooth, efficient use of computers on campus.
  • Performing other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required, with some college coursework preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience using, troubleshooting, or managing technology, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Extensive, current knowledge of personal computer hardware and software, network, operating systems and infrastructure, and Internet technologies.
  • Demonstrated skills in computer troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to analyze needs and solve problems.
  • Must be able to physically lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, and interpersonal skills.
