Tractor Technician II

POSITION PURPOSE

Test, service, and repair tractors and related mechanical components.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter changes, and fluid changes.
• Repair air conditioning, including Freon, parts, compressor, and leaks.
• Perform brake inspections; determine when to replace brake pads.
• Maintain air systems, inspecting for air leaks and faulty valves.
• Change hang on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
• Perform routine DOT inspections.
• Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.
• Perform 90 day lease operator inspections.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion. 
• Assist in transmission and engine diagnostic tests.
• Drive trucks in and out of shop before and after repairs.
• Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.
• May include other duties as assigned by management.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma preferred
• 2-3 years tractor experience
• DOT, AC, and brake certifications required 
• Valid Drivers License required
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Ability to read and write
• Must provide own hand tools (end wrenches, sockets, ratchets, etc.)
