SUBSTITUTE TEACHER OPPORTUNITY (RELIEF/PRN)
e-KIDS Learning Center, a subsidiary of Erlanger Health Systems, has current opportunities for Substitute Teachers to join our team. The Substitute is utilized on an as-needed basis (PRN), and is responsible for assisting in the overall care and education of a group of children in classrooms with age ranges from birth through age 12. The Substitute is responsible for providing a nurturing and stable environment, as well as providing safe surroundings for young children.
The Substitute facilitates interactions among children to provide opportunities for development of self-esteem, social competence, and intellectual growth. This includes implementing daily lesson plans that have been developed in conjunction with the Lead Teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or recognized equivalency
- Minimum 6 months related personal or professional experience
- Flexibility in scheduling
- Ability to maintain a confidential approach to work responsibilities
- Positive and energetic personality with a professional appearance and manner
REQUIREMENTS:
- Dependable transportation
- CPR Certification
- Telephone accessibility
- Negative criminal background check consistent with state-licensure requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides excellence in customer service to all internal and external customers
- Ensures age appropriate, quality and safe provision of care is delivered to the children within the center
- Follows health and safety policies
- Interacts appropriately with the children
- Implements a daily childcare curriculum
- Maintains classroom and environmental cleanliness
- Demonstrates knowledge of age appropriate cognitive, emotional and physical growth and development of the children in the ages served
- Serves as a liaison/problem solver between children and parents
- Follows childcare licensing requirements and regulations mandated by various regulatory and accrediting bodies
- Utilized equipment accurately
- Maintains confidentiality
- Supports the organization while demonstrating teamwork within the department
- Complete, within the first 30 days of employment, a pre-service orientations
- Complete within the first year of employment 16 hours of Department recognized, competency-based training. Six hours must be completed within the first six months of employment
