General Description: Responsible for organizing, maintaining and generating reports and analysis for the Direct and Retail business. This position will contribute to the strategic development of new merchandise planning analysis and reports and will partner with Supervisor, Merchandise Planning/Inventory organization to develop new and best reporting and analysis practices for all levels of the organization in a fast paced and dynamic retail environment.
Essential Activities and Responsibilities:
- Maintain, design and create accurate and timely reports for executive management and Direct and Retail User community.
- Improve data query environment by tracking and analyzing changing user requirements, adding new functionality and data sources and by developing process efficiencies.
- Perform analysis of reports to identify recommended business actions to solve specific business problems.
- Maintain data dictionary by revising and entering definitions.
- Prepare user references by writing operating instructions for reports and analysis tools.
- Additional ad hoc activities necessary to support ever changing business needs.
- Partnership with cross functional retail teams, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Business Excellence and IS/IT.
Education and Experience:
- 2-year degree preferred or equivalent and at least 2 years related experience and/or training. Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
- Understanding of data structures and reporting methodologies.
- Experience collaborating cross functionally to develop and improve reports and analysis tools in a fast paced dynamic retail environment.
- Must have the ability to report on data using enterprise, industry standard reporting tools like ShowCase Reports, Crystal Reports, Visual Basic for Applications and Microsoft Access.
