Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter, is looking for an experienced market research analyst to join its premiere marketing team. Cabela's, recognized for its success in the outdoor activities industry across all channels (internet, direct mail and retail), is extending its preeminent position with in-house research/analysis to understand market opportunities in core and non-core product lines, geographically from local trade areas up to and including areas outside the United States, and across socio-demographic population groups such as ethic based markets. This position is located in Sidney, NE at the corporate office.
Responsibilities include working with internal and external departments to develop and implement strategic research needed to understand the outdoor enthusiast, industry and competition. This is a hands-on environment requiring personal research skills dealing with large data sets, statistical analysis techniques and presentation skills to senior personnel.
The successful candidate is expected to be a self starter to interact with departments and senior management in developing research solutions to their business issues. Responsibilities will include building/executing research programs to analyze industry sales potential, market share, wallet share, market basket, outdoor persona values, customer satisfaction, systems functionality measures and other business metrics. Work entails coordinating external supporting research vendors and internal personal analysis of customer, product, competitor and industry level data from primary and secondary sources maintained in relational database systems. The team uses SAS for statistical operations, relational data base query tools, GIS mapping software packages and presentation results in Excel/Powerpoint.
A masters level degree in applicable sciences and three years experience, or bachelor level degree in a quantitative program with seven plus years experience are required. Experience with SAS and/or SPSS is desired.
