What does a Human Resource Manager at Hayneedle do?
 
Manages human resources activities such as recruitment, employee relations, training, benefits, and performance reviews.
 
Responsibilities:
 
·        Responsibilities in several areas of employee relations such as employee counseling, equal employment opportunity, accommodations, labor relations, and new employee on boarding.
·        Manages employee relations programs and policies to ensure equitable treatment of employees and compliance with legal regulations.
·        Maintains and complies with OSHA regulations within the workplace.
·        Facilitates the required OSHA training.
·        Work with Corporate HR to provide effective coordination regarding all compensation, health and welfare benefits, retirement plans and payroll issues.
·        Identifies, analyzes, and facilitates resolution of employee relations issues.
·        Accountable for recruitment and selection of both exempt and non-exempt positions.
·        Manages the investigation of employee complaints and disputes, and recommends and implements disciplinary actions to resolve issues.
·        Gathers information on employees' morale, motivation, and efficiency, and reports findings to Human Resource Management and Operations partner.
·        Oversees research of local market rates for positions to assess relationship to organization compensation plan. Makes recommendations to corporate HR leadership.
·        Analyzes trends in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and complaints to determine support or action needed to adjust unfavorable trends.
·        Work with distribution center leadership to manage Loss Prevention and Security.
 
What basic qualifications will our Human Resource Manager need to have?
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • 5+ years progressive Human Resources experience with 2-3 years in a distribution center and 1-2 years in a leadership role required.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Federal and State employment law and compliance issues, including EEO/Affirmative Action, FMLA and ADA required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with OSHA regulations and training required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Loss Prevention and/or Security Management experience a plus.
  • Experience with Ceridian HPW, Ceridian e-recruiting, and/or Cybershift Web Clock helpful.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities required.
  • Ability to problem-solve, resolve conflicts, and reconcile differences independently and at all levels.
  • Ability to teach, develop and motivate others.
  • Ability to understand others’ behaviors and differences in abilities, personalities and interests.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
