OVERVIEW:
The Software Deployment Administrator manages software distribution and OS deployments using automated tools. This includes setup, scheduling and coordinating with FSO and other EUES team members. Responsibilities would also include maintaining the distribution libraries for deployment software in the various regions. This includes Operating System images, packaged software, and security patches to be deployed to the desktops.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES::
- Basic responsibility for updating and maintaining the software distribution libraries. This includes the DFS, FTP, and LANDesk toolbar.
- Coordinate and support FSO personnel in software deployments
- Coordinate automated software distributions
- Assist in automating distribution of operating systems
- Work with other EUES in maintaining patch libraries – including multi-lingual versions for EMEA
- Works with other EUES team members to develop storage and retrieval strategies of software for distribution
- Provide expertise in distribution tools (LANDesk, SCCM, and JAMF)
- Promote usage of automated software distribution methods
- Document and track usage of automated distribution methods
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma required
- BS/BA or equivalent work experience required
- At least 3 years of general IT support experience is required
- Must be proficient in Windows XP and Mac OSX
- Experience supporting global end-users is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience with distribution tools (LANDesk, SCCM, JAMF) preferred
- Strong in-depth technical knowledge coupled with extensive hands-on experience of configuring and delivering software packages
- Understanding of delivery methodologies and technology
- Expertise in desktop maintenance
- Detail orientated – high degree of organizational skills
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
