Job Duties: Installs, configures, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots complex (AIX) operating system software and related program products. Provides technical consulting on the use and integration of utilities, tools, and applications into the operating system / server environment.Understands and utilizes advanced methodologies in supporting virtualized server platforms.Works with corporate-wide technical staff; and large external clients to design and support solutions on behalf of the Unix Service Delivery team.Works with peer, managers, and independently while providing technical leadership on projects.Provides coaching and mentoring to team members and services as technical escalation for the team.Required to participate in team Oncall rotation.
Expert in; AIX operating systems, RISC based IBM server hardware, mid-range server subsystems, storage management (EMC SANs), network configuration, resource management, and related software Vendor products and services.
Veritashigh availability server experience.
VIO Servers exp.
Understands complex technical requirements, service impact, and business issues facing internal and external clients.
8+ years related Server administration experience, over 5 of it specific to supporting AIX (in engineering capacity) to the most current version. General IT experience required. Exception Unix skills (command line & otherwise) required.
Bachelors Degree and/or Technical Degree (or equivalent work experience in technology relevant industries required.
