Position Description

Bellevue University offers quality liberal arts and career-oriented programs at undergraduate and graduate levels to a diverse student body through in-class and online venues.  We emphasize teaching excellence, cyber-active learning, and interactive education.  Due to our continued growth the College of Professional Studies is now accepting applications/vitas for an Assistant Professor/Program Director in Retail Management.

The Assistant Professor/Program Director for Retail Management is responsible to serve as an effective educator, mentor and role model for students and adjunct faculty in the College of Professional Studies for the undergraduate Retail Management programs. Responsible to develop, promote and manage the program, develop and maintain curricular integrity and to strive for continued growth in enrollments.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity a Master’s in related field required; Ph.D. preferred. Previous retail management experience required. Previous classroom experience preferred; online teaching experience required.  Four (4) years experience in academic management or business management position with demonstrated management competencies including the knowledge of curriculum development, project management, online teaching, and classroom facilitation techniques required.  A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholastic activities. Proven knowledge and evidence of leadership in academic planning; program development, implementation and evaluation; and personnel management responsibilities.  Demonstrated work experience with the adult learner and a history of commitment to active learning.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Solid knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, XP, Internet) computer software.  Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality in handling personnel related matters and college business.
